I am still awaiting three claims of £84 each from Phonebox direct. They are just not sincere. Their activities are dodgy. i did everything rightly. Sent the right bills, used recorded delivery, reported them to t-mobile to blacklist them from marketing their products. Here am l waiting for £252. The phone that was given never worked more than 3months of of the 12 months contract. I just cannot believe this is happening in UK.

Phonebox Direct has now gone into administration, which basically means that if anyone has taken out the 12 month full cashback offer recently, or are still owed any of your cashback you will never see that money back that you were promised again! My 4-month bill came through from Vodafone a couple of weeks ago, so that very same day i got all the origional documentation that they request for the cashback claim to be successfull, and posted it off recorded delivery.. but of course, it didnt make it, and has been returned.
I have lost ALL of the £420 Cashback i was promised because i couldnt even send off the 1st cashback claim form before they went Bust!
Even the charger i was sent with the phone was usless, and i had to find another on ebay.
Overall Phonebox Direct were a completly usless company with sloppy customer service, and obviously a terrible general service, as they have breached 10's of thousands of contracts that THEY compiled.
If you click the link in the top right, linking you to their website, you should be directed to a page which summarises how the company has crashed.
It states that the amount of money this company actually owes to the masses could be as high as TEN MILLION POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So clearly.. learn from me and alll the other very unhappy customers here and get your new phone from a company with some good credit, and don't take the chance with an online, supposedly 'full cashback' offer like we did.
Also, Phones4U is part of the same company as phoneboxdirect, so be sure to not take your business there... they already have enough of other peoples money, i assure you.

Bring Mobile Phones to the Masses is their slogan - con the masses morelike! Yes, I made one tiny error, using the number on the delivery note instead of the original order number - as a result I've lost £480!
I am an intelligent and organised individual, so if I am conned what's going to happen to the masses. Avoid these rude arrogant con merchants like the plague. Carphone Warehouse's e2save are much more reliable and provide a friendly caring service.

NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!
I took out contracts with them believing I would get full cashback.
Things looked ok to start with, I got the phone I ordered the next day as promised.
Then I spoke to a member of staff about filling in the cashback claim form as I was confused about the order referance number, they said it was on the delivery note which came in the packaging with the phone. So at that I filled my claim form in waited for the 4th bill from Vodaphone which was very late arriving but got the claim posted off in good time the minute it arrived which left me with 12 days out of my calender month time window.
a week later got an email confirming that they had received my claim and that it was being processed.
at which point I felt I could relax! Time passed and 3 weeks later I get a letter ( by which time I had already sent my claim in for the second phone ) saying that the claim has been REJECTED BECAUSE I HAVE NOT GIVEN THEM THE PBD NUMBER which was not on the delivery note with the phone AS I HAD BEEN TOLD BY A MEMBER OF THEIR STAFF. SO HAVING MADE THE SAME MISTAKE ON THE SECOND CLAIM I HAVE LOST OUT BY £840 ALLTOGETHER AS I HAVE MISSED THE DEADLINES AND SENT THE ORIGINAL BILLS. BECAUSE IN THE SMALL PRINT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT ACCEPT PHOTOCOPYS OR DUPLICATES SO I GUESS WITH A BIT OF LUCK WE SHOULD SEE THEM FEATURED ON WATCHDOG.
I DID EXPECT TO HAVE DIFFICULTIES WITH THEM ONCE I DISCOVERED THAT IT IS ANOTHER COMPANY SETUP BY THAT INFAMOUS "SIMON SLATER" WHO WAS BEHIND SHABBY COMPANYS SUCH AS "SINGLEPOINT AND PHONES4U"
HAD I REALIZED THIS AT THE TIME I WOULD HAVE STEERED WELL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings to all of you, forum contributors. Your advice and experiences are of enormous value to everybody.
Unfortunately I read some of the advices too late. I just had a bad experience with phoneboxdirect.com
One should not buy from PhoneboxDirect (Mobile Media Systems Ltd)! They are cheating their customers.
I sent them a full and valid cashback claim by recorded mail. The invoice date was 27/6. It was signed/received by them on 4/7. They send me a letter (dated 18/6, arrived 20/7) stating that the second page of the bill is missing (it wasn’t). I asked T-mobile to send me a copy of the bill (for £2.50). They advised me that it would take 7 working days to be produced. PhoneboxDirect said they will wait only until 27/7 for it, obviously invalidating my claim and any future claims.

AVOID!!!!!
I received my first 3 of 5 instalments of cashback. Then surprise surprise my 4th letter got lost in the post. They refuse to pay me £192.
They seem to have a reputation for letters to them being lost. Maybe they have a very small letterbox...

Same as everyone else - I took a "free phone and contract" offer that actually consisted of Cashback claims. The phone I got was a refurb, not new.
I got one amount back for £76, but then they claimed I sent the wrong paperwork on the second claim (untrue). It was then impossible for me to send the "correct" paperwork through since I had already given them the only original bill. I lost £280 to the them.

I have just lost £220.50 with Phone Box Direct, they took ages to pay the first and scecond cash backs so that they overlapped, on the third occasion the letter was lost, and their emails were lacking and confusing, this is a first for me in, 47 years the P.O have lost my letter, never happened before !. am seeking legal advice for breach of contract on their part for late payments. report all 'lost' letter to the P.O. Avoid this CO. have been doing cash back deals for last few years , stick with CPW and DAP.

****>>>>AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!<<<<**** This company will rip you off. I rang to check phone was in stock b4 I placed my order, they said it was. placed my order on next day delivery. Paid £2.50 for a credit check. Phone never came. Received an email a WEEK later telling me it was out of stock. Sent an email from another address asking if they had it in stock, they said yes so I gave my reference no. and asked them to send it sharpish. Nothing. I rang again, the aftersales dept rings and rings. The sales dept picked up after half a ring. Told it was in stock, but when I gave my ref no. was told i would have to wait a week. Next day delivery? what a joke. Cant get my 2.50 refunded. What a sham steer clear!!

Update on my earlier comments. Final cashback due 1st May 2007. Despite numerous e-mails and phone calls, I received a letter on 30th May stating that I had not sent in the correct paperwork . This is despite e-mails from them that the claim was fine and is being processed ( incidentally the paperwork I sent in was fine for the 4 previous cash-backs and I had done nothing different this time!) . The letter arrived on 30th May and I was told I had to re-send the original bill by 4th June - 2 working days. O2 takes at least 5 working days to re-send the bill - It seems they will do anything not to pay the cash - back. I am currently seeking legal advice through my house-hold insurance. It seems it is a very common problem for them.

FOLLOW UP from previous 'in process of being ripped off' post. I HAVE RECEIVED CASHBACK. 26/01/07 post bill 05/02/07 'bill received' confirmation e-mail 12/02/07 'we are processing your paperwork e-mail you will receive your payment 28 working days later (6 weeks) Cheque posted out 23/03/07 plus another 4-5 days to clear. Cheque clears on 30/03/07. So there you go, It takes 2 months from posting your bill to actually recieving the cashback. Not quite the '28 Days Cashback - subject to terms & conditions' offer I thought I was signing up for.

Don't touch this firm with a barge-pole unless you want major stress and the feeling of being ripped off.
First instalment lost £10 just because I sent in the 2nd page and not the 1st page of the O2 bill. They sent back the claim whilst I was on holiday and I almost lost all the redemption because by the time I had re-sent the paperwork it was out of the time limit! Only the threat of legal action made them change their mind.
The cash-back instalments are always late and only seem to be paid after a considerable amount of chasing. I am still waiting my final cheque for paperwork I sent in 2 months ago. I phoned again and was told that they cannot tell me when this cheque will be paid.
I was also told that they have just changed their terms and conditions on the repayment period. When I argued that they were not the same terms and conditions I signed up to, I was told that they could change these throughout the contract period, without notification.
It seems that if you make a tiny mistake you will forfeit all your redemption and yet they delay paying out what is rightfully yours.

Probably one of the worst company out there to deal with, very unhelp staff with bad customer service. I am so happy that I have cancelled my order with phoneboxdirec after 8 days. After calling every day about the order, they told me after 2 days that they don't have the phone in stock, so I went for another phone, this time after few 2 days when I called, thely said it is declined, I contacted T-Mobile and they said my application was successful and they provided me with refernce number.
When I called phone box direct, they said its ok will ship your order today. And now its Monday I called them and they say they don't have it in stock so I cancelled my order with them. If this is what you have to go through just to order a phone with phoneboxdirect what will happen when you claim your cashback. I am still so frustrated that I don't have phone and my time has been wasted by them. For some people things must have gone smoothly but I must think that just out luck.
I really do not recommend this company for anyone.

Didn't receive my acknowledgement of payment - sent in good time - was told it can take 28 days to be processed. Waited, phoned was then told they hadn't received it and as I had broken the terms of the contract and therefore won't be able to claim any more. I have proof of posting they say this isn't enough. Anyone else have a similar experience - do they say they haven't received if you don't send by recorded delivery? Seems strange that they received the onces previously sent by recorded but this one they didn't.

I have had 2 phones with them for the past 2 years, just starting my 3rd year. Yes you do need to read all the small print and keep your original order number BUT if you do that you will have no problems at all receiving all your cash back. I advise you to send all cash back claims recorded delivery then there can be no arguing that you have sent the bill in on time!
I give them 10 out of 10 for value for money. Just be organised and follow the instructions!

I am currently in the process of being ripped off by them... 'send in the first page' I was told by two people.. guess what? o2 have two pages of billing information.. £10 already down the drain for sending in incorrect paperwork..After pointlessly trying to explain what I was told..'we have no record of you speaking to anyone'... All of my paperwork was sent recorded delivery, I just noticed todays instalment is dated 1 day after their time out date...(26th) I sent on 20th. You think you are clever enough to get cashback? You've just met your biggest project.......and I got a crap phone. 'we've just sold out of the one you want'.

I have 2 phones with them, one for my son and one for my daughter. I first sent in my claim too soon so they deducted £10. Fair enough I can live with that after that they paid up, but towards the end of the contract around xmas time the bills came in late and when I forwarded them to Phone box they told me they were 3 days too late on both Phones.
On one phone I have lost £290 cash back and the other £132. I am going to try a claim in the small courts to recover the money but be warned that they DONT PAY if you are late by 3 days and it is very hard to work out which bill covers the time periods they stipulate.
They are part of phones 4 U and my recommendations is to use either E save or carphone warehouse who are the same because they are far more customer friendly for cash back even if you dont get paid as much as phone box.
BE WARNED!

Redemption is a farce- my experience is that they receive the form hold onto it and then tell you that the claim is void because it's not been processed in time. Don't use them - you have no guarantee of the cash back and I suspect that very few people actually see the money.

After reading the negative comments for Phonebox Direct, I feel obliged to respond. Admittedly you have to follow the conditions for rebate to the letter, but isn't that to be expected, let's be realistic, up to 12 months cash back on a 12 months contract with a phone thrown in, I would imagine any supplier's terms would have to be closely adhered to.

Phonebox direct are at the forefront and are indeed market leaders in being incompetent and utterly useless. I ordered a phone from them. I received a call every day for a week confirming my bank details as there was 'a problem'. My bank, of course, said there was not. Eventually, when they solved my bank account issue, they had ran out of the phone I wanted and offered me a load of tat to replace it. Nobody cared about the inconvenience I had suffered nor the fact I will now be without a phone as they took so long messing me around. They are all arrogant and rude. They are the same company as coolnewmobile and 3mobilefones so avoid them all like the plague. They truly suck.

Same experience as Mr Morton. I called them up about when I should have sent it in and they said it had to be the one including 31 july and it had to get to them by the 3rd of august. again, if you miss one, all other claims are void. there are good deals out there and i hav tried carphone warehouse and mobile shop and they are very good with thier rebates. NEVER TRUST PHONEBOX DIRECT UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO PAY FOR IN FULL FOR THE WHOLE YEAR. THEY ARE TRULY RUBBISH.

How can they have deals better than anyone else? Well sign up and find out. In the small print they will get you off.
I had a contract for 12 Months, followed all there directions for rebate, called to confirm the Month to send in for the rebate. Was told it was the following Month, no it was the Month I was going to send in. Received a letter to say sorry but no rebate. So waited till the next rebate at 12 Months but that was not allowed due to the small print saying you miss any rebates and you miss them all.
According to Three who I had the contract with, this is a common occurance. My lesson learnt't is go with one of the big shops on the high street.
I see this company is offering 12 Months free at the moment, don't fall for it. Deals like this are based on suckers
